Introduction

After a long and competitive tender, ISG secured the fit out of the new Italian headquarters for Michelin, the leading French tyre manufacturer. The preferred location was within the newly built Bodio Center, the first business park developed within the city area of Milan. It involved the fit out of three office levels of the building called ‘Bodio 3’.

The project

Some design details were not defined and agreed until work started on site. This led the delivery team to find tailor-made solutions for the construction of some special items, such as the big plasterboard tyre which serves as a coffee point and break out area in the middle corridor. The tight programme was also very challenging, considering the value, scope of works and the co-ordination of over 20 specialised companies on site.

After the approval of the first submittals and shop drawings by our customer, ISG started the strip out of pre-existing MEP systems in order to install electrical, mechanical, special systems and data cabling throughout. The scope of works also encompassed new plasterboard ceilings, flooring, paintings, the installation of glazed, foldable and plasterboard partitions, as well as acoustic panels running into the ceilings.

Our team completed the look and feel of the project with the installation of bespoke furniture pieces and branded manifestations across the office space covering an approximate area of 4,500 sq m. ISG demonstrated an extremely proactive and collaborative attitude throughout the project, in full liaison with our customer and all stakeholders.
