Introduction

Following the successful fit out of half a floor of office space at the IT company’s headquarter in Milan, ABB awarded a second phase of work to ISG. The second phase involved fitting out another one and half floors of office space in the same building. Both projects were completed in 2016.

The project

ISG worked in a live environment during both of the project’s phases, and worked hard to keep disturbance down to a minimum. We adapted the office’s glazed partitions as well as revamped the existing mechanical and electrical systems.

The pilot scheme involved fitting out half a floor of office space, covering approximately 800 sq m, based on the company’s newly conceived layout. New plasterboard partitions and sound-absorbing finishes were installed to create a varied range of meeting rooms and phone booths. The scope of works included the installation of new carpet flooring, and new painting and branded manifestations throughout. After the delivery of the pilot, the Swiss tech giant commissioned a similar scope of work for the second phase. The team completed the internal refitting of an additional one and half floors to comply with ABB’s requirements for the new office reconfiguration.
