Overview

In May 2015 ISG won a competitive tender and was selected as general contractor for the restoration project of the BMW historic dealership & sales office in Milan, located in Via De Amicis, within the well-known district of Sant’Ambrogio. The building was constructed in the late 1940s and it stands out as an iconic landmark in the city.

The Project

Prior to commencing the full refurbishment of the building, ISG started with the strip out of pre-existing premises. The dealership was revamped with the intent of providing new sales and workshop areas, customer care, a parking lot on the rooftop and showrooms to display BMW’s brands.

The fit out works included the installation of new slabs, screed and floor finishes, as well as paintings, coatings and new partitions. New M&E systems and data cabling were installed anew, while all windows were replaced and external cladding was restored and modernised through the installation of a new lighting system, which changes colours regularly.

ISG also carried out structural reinforcements to build a new internal glass lift and a sewage system running underneath the bespoke marble outdoor path.
Expert co-ordination of sub-contractors and a teamwork approach resulted in a timely hand over to BMW

Customer testimonial

“This has been a hard project. However our Executives based in German Headquarters are delighted with the final outcome. This is the first European project to be delivered on time. A credit to everyone involved.”
